If you take a closer look at the beautifully decorated home of Munich-based interior blogger Sarah van Peteghem, there is no chance not to come across her beautiful artworks adorning the white walls of her needly styled space. Not only does Sarah know how to decorate her home, but she is also an incredibly talented artist and designer.

We had the chance for a personal home tour which was also an excellent way to take a closer look at her beautiful and minimal art prints that perfectly fuse with her minimal and Scandinavian inspired home.

Sarah, who is originally from Antwerp in Belgium, where she studied industrial design, has come a long way. She has been moving around quite often; after her studies, she did a specialization in the Netherlands and then moved to Berlin in 2011 where she started to work as a designer. It was also the first time she moved in together with her boyfriend and the couple was facing the challenge of decorating their new home.

“I like to combine this cozy feeling with the neutral and colder Nordic style, so I guess I was influenced by Berlin and Belgium, but also very much by my visits to Sweden, Denmark and Finland.”Sarah van Peteghem | Source: urbanara.co.uk

This also led her to start her blog Coco Lapine because while she was on the hunt for new inspirations for her own home, a passion was sparked and Sarah wanted to share her home styling process and her interior inspirations with others. Sarah also began to create her own monochrome art prints which perfectly complement her minimalistic furnished home. Over time, her following started to grow and she started to realize her first projects as an interior stylist for the Berlin estate agency Fantastic Frank. After living for five years in Berlin, the couple made their next big move to Munich where they now live in an equally beautiful apartment.

“I think my interior style definitely has a Nordic influence, but I like to mix it up with other elements as well. I like my interior to be quite minimal with clean lines, but without losing the coziness of a home.”Sarah van Peteghem | Source: donebymyself.nl

Her love for the minimalistic Nordic designs is distinct and, throughout her home, you will find various shades of grey combined with brass, cork, wood tints and some green plants. Furthermore, she uses some mid-century modern furniture which perfectly works as a contrast to the minimal and clean lines of the Scandinavian interior pieces that Sarah has accumulated over the years. Today, Sarah entirely focusses on blogging, her work as an interior designer and her amazingly beautiful artworks. Follow her blog for some fantastic Scandinavian interior inspiration and make sure to visit her online shop to get your hands on Sarah’s art prints.
