Even though our schedule was packed for the day, we had to pay the renowned Voo Store a visit. Located far away from the usual shopping streets of Berlin, you have to make your way through Kreuzberg’s bustling neighborhood to then discover the store hiding in a courtyard just off Oranienstrasse. The store is absolutely worth searching for and maybe that is even one of the things that makes this concept store so appealing.
Upon entering, bare concrete walls and a rough, unfinished construction aesthetic hit you; it feels more like a gallery space rather than a store. What makes the store so attractive is the meticulously selected range of premium clothes which are mostly high priced pieces from brands like Raf Simons, ACNE Studios, J.W. Anderson and more.
“Translating a personal vision of Berlin through a careful selection of local and international designers and products, Voo Store is an exploration in modern design, visual culture and the future of luxury retail.”Voo Berlin.
It’s clear that the Voo Store doesn’t go with the common fashion industry standards; it’s a place to find unique and extraordinary fashion goods for both women or men. The store also offers a great selection of books, design pieces and accessories. Another integral part of the concept store is that the space is also used for art installations and exhibition purposes. We had the chance to witness an amazing setup for the highly limited release of Nike X OFF-WHITE “The Ten” Collection.
Alongside the store, you will also find a devotedly fitted little coffee spot inside Voo Store. Run by two friends, Chris and Shaun, Companion Coffee is the perfect place after you had your shopping spree at Voo, to sit down and enjoy some expertly made coffees. Besides their amazing coffee selection and deliciously fresh-baked goods, the two focus on a high-quality tea variety which you should definitely try for yourself.
It’s safe to say that the Voo Store and Companion Coffee are must visit when in Berlin. We had an excellent time and the staff was very accommodating and kind. If you happen to be in Berlin, make sure to drop by for some exclusive shopping and one of Berlin’s best coffee spots.
