If the intuition of the influencers, editors, and designers is to be believed, the new it-bags are paradoxically plastic bags. There is mainly talk of the translucent Céline shopping-bag, which you can find everywhere in the social networks at the moment. Discovered at first on the runway of the latest spring-/summer-shows and which is available in the stores now. This plastic bag has been established into a new fashion statement within a very short time and provokes the phenomenon of a must-have for a lot of people. It is no wonder that brands like Burberry, Balenciaga or Raf Simons launched their own interpretation of the translucent bag.
At first glance, it seems that plastic – the environmental sin – is stylized into a desirable fashion-object but could have another meaning at second glance: it is maybe the concern of the labels to point out that plastic bags aren’t a product for one-time usage by making this exorbitant price and we should not be wasteful with it.
